WOW !! how lucky did we get by postponing the hike until Thursday. A simply glorious day...sunny with few clouds and most always a breeze. Leaving the city 0730 is the answer as we started the trail 0920. Gradual hike up through the trees, bit boggy in spots, and then voila! out into the sunshine...took 2hr20 to the peak. Long leisurely lunch as the wind was minimal. Flowers are past the peak but still many to be seen. Return to trailhead 1430. Well, if I emphasized how fabulous the group was you would think I was exaggerating...so I will just say.."wonderful hike'.
