After two years of unsuccessful attempts, Rummel Pass was reached on an outstanding day. The day began cool but soon warmed up. A good hike to Rummel Lake and then to the Pass through the meadows and then onto the rocky section. The first and second tarns were dry but the third still had water. Enjoyed our lunch on the Pass - warm & sunny without the wind and fabulous views. No wildlife sighting except Shirley’s imaginary bear on the mountain-side. It was a warm trip back but the occasional breeze helped cool us off. You will find the initial part of the trail through the cut-block vastly different. It is now a wide, well-graded switchback. The beginning of the trail has also been improved as well as the one down to the creek that includes a new bridge. Kudos to Alberta Parks trail crews for these improvements. Thank you to all the hikers that were able to join me on this wonderful day.
