Thanks to a fabulous group of hikers for making this a great day!! We left trailhead at 09:10 AM, and got to the lake in an hour. After a 15 min rest and photo opportunity, we hiked along the left side of the lake, across the bottom and started the climb. We all reached Rawson/Sarrail Ridge between 11:45-12 noon. Of the 9 in our group, 6 had not been to the Ridge previously. Thanks to those who shared the task of leading - each of you set a good pace which enabled success for everyone. The meadows at the top were exploding with color as the flowers seemed to be at their peak. Views from the Ridge did not disappoint. We'll post some photos on the website. The trail was clear to follow - but because of the steepness, and the loose dirt/rocks on the trail - it made it a bit of a challenge, especially on the descent. We wondered if spikes would have worked to give us more traction. Only had 50 drops of rain after descending back to Rawson Lake, but did drive through rain along Highway 40 on the way home. Thanks again all of you for a great day.
