I had to cancel the hike I was leading at Sunshine Meadows as there were thunderstorms in the forecast, so posted this alternative on Friday and it soon filled up. We enjoyed the sunny part of Saturday -- started at Angel's Cafe, crossed the bridge, went up to the Douglas Fir Lookout, then continued on the somewhat restored Douglas Fir Trail down to the Bow River below the Shaganappi Golf Course. Long time Point MacKay resident and veteran hiker Gord McLean explained several interesting points along the way. Back to Angel's Cafe before the thunderstorm rolled in.
