Write Up:
We had a spectacular day hiking in the Porcupine Hills south of the Chain Lakes Reservoir along highway 22.
With temperatures of 23c and bright, sunny skies we hiked the hiked the
15km circuit in 5.5 hours with a half hour lunch break. There were
many wild flowers along the route most notable were the tiger
lilies and wild rose which were blooming in extraordinary numbers.
We saw evidence of somewhat recent grizzly activity in the
carcasses of several animals near the end of the trail. We followed
last years GPS track faithfully for the entire hike except
at the end we did not bushwack as we had last year
