weather was hot. trail surfaces varied from pavement, shale, forest floor and grassland. the hike included a short visit to the stockman's memorial arhives, the "grandfather tree", Big Hill Spring Creek and the Bow River, and a suspended bridge/walkway in a culvert under Griffiths road. Saw a garter snake on the trail. this area was new to some of the people on the hike.
