Write Up:
Raven's End is the prominent northeast abutment of Mount Yamnuska and is probably the name given, to what we simply called Yamnuska, by Gillean Daffern in homage to Ben Gadd's novel. Call it what you will, the 15 of us all female hikers called it marvelous. The weather was perfect and the trail, right from the parking lot was laden with wild flowers among the Aspens. We were not the only ones impressed. A golden brown bear was munching on the impressive smorgasbord of lilies, white camus, and sticky geranium and only looked up at us to see what all the fuss was about. Clearly, he/she (we didn't get THAT close a look at it) was not impressed with us but we sure were impressed by it. A nice sighting to top off a grand day of beautiful vistas.
