Weather as we started was just foggy but by the time we got to the meadow before the lake it was raining, windy and 6 degrees. We went to the lake but quickly turned around opting to have lunch in the trees back along the trail. While stopped and having lunch on the trail on a treed hillside some hikers coming up the trail saw a young grizzly who was within 10 feet of us. Then one of us saw the whole bear and gave the bear warning. We made a lot of noise, got our bear spray ready. i then saw his back and hump as he moved along on the top of the hill above us as he sauntered off. The group the next day saw the bear also ( see their report)
