Write Up:
Despite a not very encouraging weather forecast eight intrepid hikers set out for Healy Pass. We met early at 7 am and started hiking at 8.30 am. The trail was damp with some muddy spots and lots of mosquitoes! The meadows were spectacular. There were only a few glacier lilies left but lots of paintbrush, larkspur, buttercups, asters and fleabane. There were plenty of grey clouds at lunchtime and the views weren't that good. We didn't linger at the pass for too long due to the risk of a thunderstorm. Luckily it didn't start raining until the final 10 minutes of our return hike. An excellent day which was enjoyed by everybody. Thanks to a great group of hikers.!!!
