Write Up:
We left the trail head parking lot at 8:45 on a crisp (-2) clear morning, arriving at Temple Lodge 50 minutes later. We soon found ourselves crossing frosty bridges and firm mud. The sun was upon us at Boulder Pass and stayed with us the entire day. The larches were at their prime, and the snow from earlier in the week was gone. Ptarmigan, Baker, Redoubt, Zigadenus and Myosotis lakes were all in their glory bathed in sunshine and golden larches. The surrounding peaks were topped with fresh snow. The chimney entertained all who passed through it. The off trail hike up through the larch forest to Deception Pass was pleasant with good footing. The group arrived back at the trail head at 5:45.
