Write Up:Officially named Mount John Laurie or by the Nakoda named Mount Yamnuska – we explored it all. We had a wonderful, fantastic, and rewarding day. Our drive out the Trans Canada went smooth and we returned via 1A with a slow down at the lights at highway 22. Our group of nine left the trailhead at 8:30 and arrived back by 2 pm.We got up the chimney and then over to the back and arrived at the cables and we all traversed and arrived at the peak before noon. We spend thirty minutes at the summit. The skies were looking dark and we decided to move. We were joined by the two ladies from Quebec. We started down the scree and to the col. We heard thunder and had some light rain. The temperature was comfortable all day and there was no wind at the peak. We had the trail to us. This hike has plenty of variety and challenging areas to complete, panoramic views and one departs with a sense of accomplishment. Thank you for everyone for coming out and making this a hike not to forget and aim to do again.
