Thank goodness we cancelled the hike originally scheduled for July 16, because July 31 was a PERFECT day, wonderful blue sky high temperatures and a great day to enjoy the walk up and back through the trees, the few remaining wild flowers in the meadows and the slog up the pass . We took shelter from the wind at the top of the pass to enjoy our lunch. This is a long hike, for the leaders - 3 hours up and 3 hours down, It is a long day but well worth the effort. Cost of the trip for car expenses $15.00 It took 1 3/4 hours to get to the trail head from Assumption. Toilets are at there very far end of the parking lot marked Buller Mountain.
