Write Up:
We decided not to do the circuit because hikers did not want to wait in the cold and wet for the car shuttle to be done nor did they want to risk being on the ridge as thunderstorms were forecast. We were glad we turned back after sinking thigh deep in snow in the trees going up to the ridge. So we went to the top of the scree knoll instead and then turned back to the trail head. We were pretty wet but happy.
