Write Up:We drove for over two hours through the scenic foothills to the trailhead on the outskirts of Blairmore in the Crowsnest Pass. We walked on a good but steep trail along a narrow, rocky ridge to the north peak. Then we scrambled trough a more challenging terrain to the main peak for one hour. We walked around cliffs and big cracks in the ground since this was the mountain that slid down on the town of Frank 100 years ago. Our way was blocked by hard, old snow from last winter. On the first snowfield Pat used her mountaineering training and kicked in good steps in the snow for the rest of us to use. We were able to avoid a second big snowfield just below the summit by scrambling around it. Another good day in the mountains!
