Four of us set out in the middle of the snow event in Calgary to find Lake Louise clear and sunny. This was a new trail for most of us. The Great Divide was mostly clear of snow but things change once we headed up the trail to Ross Lake. Tracks coming out of the lake showed an increasing amount of post holing so we strapped on the snow shoes and proceeded up to the lake. It is a beautiful little lake surrounded on 2 sides by steep snow covered slopes. We then proceeded west on a ski trail to the Lake O'Hara road. The Lake O'Hara road was snow & ice covered so we swapped out the footwear to our icers and had a wonderful walk back to the car to complete the loop. Thank you to my fellow hikers for joining me on this new adventure. Barry
