Spray River Loop (10/29/2025)

Itinerary:
This pleasant loop runs up one side of the Spray River and down back the other side from a trailhead just beyond the Banff Springs Hotel. The trail follows fire roads most of the way, never far from the river. We'll eat lunch at the bridge before turning back. Great views of Mount Rundle and the Hotel! Estimated time to complete the hike is 4-4.5 hours.

Required Items to Bring:
Valid National Park Pass, microspikes (just in case), lunch and snacks, bear spray.
Recommended Items to Bring:

Dress for the weather as it will likely be rather cool.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:The Trailhead is at the end of Spray River Avenue behind the Hotel. Drive west to Banff, turn south at Mount Norquay intersection continuing through town and across the Bow River Bridge. Turn left onto Spray avenue and head thru the traffic circle to road's end.

Plan for a 4-4.5 hour walk.
