Itinerary:
Let’s enjoy the continuing summer weather and avoid larch insanity further south in K County. If we meet at carpool at 8.30, we should be at the trailhead by 9.45 and ready to start at 10 am. Including lunch we should finish by 2.30. From the parking lot, the reasonably flat trail winds through the forest crossing a couple of bridges, continuing for approx. 2 km until the trail turns upwards. The ascent is a steady incline. Once reaching the plateau, the views of Rimwall, Mount Lougheed and Windtower are stunning. We will stop in the meadow for lunch to admire the view. If we want to go up to the ridge line, we can discuss as a group. We will stop for rest, delayering, snacks etc. I will require stops to catch my breath, so this is not a fitbit event.
