Itinerary:

Starting from Island Lake Lodge we walk around the shore of the lake, we then climb through forest and open talus slope to an alpine basin. The trail follows beside the unique Spineback Ridge to the base of Three Bears Mountain where the peaks are named Mama, Papa and Baby Bear. There is another new trail which circles Baby Bear which we are not doing named the Goldilocks Trail ;-) Hoping to see flowers and fossils as well as views of the surrounding peaks.

From Fernie drive South on Crowsnest Hwy-3. Turn West on Mount Fernie Park Road. Drive 9.4 km to the trailhead parking area near Island Lake Lodge. Be ready to start hiking at 9.45am
