| Itinerary: | |||||||
| I've been watching the weather forecasts and there is less precipitation expected in the Bow Valley than south of the city over the next couple of days so I've decided that I'd like to check out the trails at the south west end of the Yamnuska Natural Area which sits under Yamnuska and Goat Mountain. This under appreciated area is a mix of meadows, forests, kettle lakes, moraines, the list goes on. It is also home to many birds and flowers. Check Gillean Daffern's Kananaskis trail guide volume 3, hike no 27 for more details. Trails will be muddy after the rain. Weather is a mix of sun and cloud with the chance of t-showers in the afternoon. Approx 3 1/2 to 4 hours total including breaks. | |||||||
| |||||||
| How to Get There: | |||||||
| Event Directions: | Travel west on highway 1, take the Seebe exit, h'way 1X north. At the T junction with h'way 1A turn left/west on 1A. In approx 3.2km turn into the Bow Valley Trail parking area on your left hand side. This is just opposite the Francis Cook Regional Resource centre. | ||||||
