Itinerary:
Please don't register for this hike if you have been sick in the last 7 days or haven't had your Covid vaccinations. These two ridges are right at the entrance to K country west of Turner Valley. We do a short up and then down straight away because we can't trespass on Anchor D ranch land. After a forest walk we will ascend onto Carry Ridge and enjoy an undulating ridge walk for up to 6km. We then descend into the valley for 3.5km before a short steep climb onto Muley Ridge. We return along Muley before the short up and down back to the vehicles. There are nice views from the ridges. Hiking time will depend on how far we wander. Expect 4 - 4 1/2 hours on trail. The hike is described in Daffern's K Country Trail Guide volume 4, p44.

Required Items to Bring:
K Country pass. Microspikes and snowshoes - we will decide at the trailhead which we need. Everything that you need for a full day winter hike.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Turner Valley head west on highway 546 for approx 15km. On passing the Anchor D Ranch drive for another 650m and park in the pullout by the big K indicating the boundary for Kananaskis Country. Google maps recognises both Anchor D Ranch and 'Kananaskis Gate Sheep River Bluerock Wildland'

Notes:
Be ready to hike at 10.15am. I will try and find out before Wednesday how much snow has actually fallen in the area. This is not a well trafficked hike so we may need snowshoes if they got as much snow as the city did.
