Itinerary:

A nice winter city hike through a forest with views of the Bow River and North West Calgary. We will meet at the playing field on Cougar Ridge Dr. S.W. (see map below) and hike the Paskapoo Slopes. The hike has a few points of interest: An impressive Tibetan Prayer Stupa in the forest on the slopes, a couple of abandoned cars from the 1940's, and an old homestead site which was abandoned in the 1950's. The forests on the slopes are very pretty and, although you are in the city, it feels like you are not. This is a hilly hike so be prepared for some cardio exercise. Also be prepared for icy or muddy sections in the trail.
