Itinerary:
Akamina Ridge is a wonderful ridge walk with amazing views. It begins at the Wall Lake trailhead on the Cameron Lake Road. Shortly after starting the hike, hikers will reach an intersection. For Akamina Ridge, hikers will need to turn left, towards Forum Lake. The trail takes you to the shore of Forum Lake. From the lake, proceed to the right, to the base of some cliff bands and find a spot to scramble up to the ridge. Once on the ridge, one can enjoy the easy walk across the ridge while taking in views of Alberta, British Columbia and Montana. Crossing the ridge the descent starts off fairly steeply, but then becomes more gradual and takes you to Wall Lake. A great spot for a break to enjoy the beauty of Wall Lake. Hike out on the Wall Lake trail. This hike is a full day, slightly more than 18 kilometres.
