Itinerary:

This hike follows the same valley as the hike to Pocaterra Ridge. Instead of turning right to go up Pocaterra, we turn left and head up a path that traverses a scree slope. We will go to the very top of the ridge, and then follow the ridge (Grizzly) as far as the group wants to go. We return via the same route. This hike will be done at a moderate pace.

The parking lot at Highwood Pass fills up early, so you are strongly encouraged to carpool in order to free up parking space for other hikers. Since the Highwood pass is accessible from either north or south Calgary, there will be a carpool option in both the north and the south of the city.

It is not uncommon to see evidence of grizzlies in this area. This year, with so many berries, Park Wardens are warning of increased bear activity. Because of that, we will make every effort to hike together as a group, leaving no one ahead or behind on their own.
