Itinerary:

Hike up the Pine Ridge Loop Trail to the north end. FIND the Forked Ridge Route down 50 m and up 70 m to the trail summit at 1655 meters. EXPLORE the Forked Ridge Route back down to AB-546 around 1400 meters ASL. We can walk or hike the 2.5 to 3.3 km back to the parking area. Total distance is about 12 to 13 km depending on return option.

Meet at the Sheep River Information Centre parking area about 18 km West on AB-546 from the 4 way stop in Turner Valley.

Notes:

Might involve some easy bushwhacking / EXPLORING. There is a 2.5 km section on the road which we can either walk or hike on the Macabee Loop Trail. Distance is 12 to 13 km on trail depending on road / trail option.
