Itinerary:

The trail from Altrude Creek to Twin lakes is forest enclosed and as such less scenic than the trail via Vista Lake but it has its good points. It has less elevation gain and it is all downhill on return. On a windy day the trees offer protection from the wind. The Twin Lakes lie directly below the sheer cliffs of Storm Mountain. From Lower Twin lake a pleasant 3 km trail leads to Gibbon Pass,which offers larches, meadows, and views of distant mountains.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

Meet at Altrude Creek parking area at 9 a.m. Exit Trans Canada higway at Castle Junction to Highway 93. Immediately watch for an access road turning left just pass the Trans-Canada overpass.Follow the gravel road through the animal control fence to the parking lot.
