Itinerary:

We will hike to a hanging canyon and the remnants of the Old Goat Glacier. The hike starts about 30 minutes drive south from Canmore and is rewarding from the start. There is a nice warm-up walk through the forest followed by a very steep section up a headwall with lots of loose rock and scree. Hence the extra difficult designation. We will come out on the glacial moraine and into a basin where we will enjoy rapidly expanding views of Spray Lakes Reservoir and the Three Sisters Massif. Some route finding may be required. Also be prepared for rough trail conditions.
