Itinerary:
A few of us checked out this hike in May as the flowers were starting to bloom and I thought that it would be good to check out the fall colours now although, after this weekend, there may be snow on the ground! There are three high points along the way with views over the Sheep River valley to Windy Point Ridge, Bluerock Mtn and Gibraltar Mtn. We will then wander to the end of the Long Meadow towards High Noon hills before returning. On the way back we will pick up a trail above the river which skips two of the short hill climbs but we do have to do the biggest one again. Expect to be on trail for 4 1/2 - 5 hours approximately.

Required Items to Bring:
Kananaskis conservation pass. Microspikes - city spikes are not adequate Everything you need for a full day on the trails.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
A hot drink for lunchtime

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Head west of Turner/Diamond Valley on highway 546. In approx 20km from the town turn left into the Sandy McNabb campground. Drive part way down the hill to a parking area on your left. If you get to the bottom of the hill you have gone to far. Google maps recognises Sandy McNabb Trail which is where you want to park.

Notes:
I never know where to choose for a south carpool so if you want to carpool please contact someone on the sign up list.
