| Hello all, this is a multi day hike ( 3 days , 2 nites) starting Friday June 9, 2023 and ending Sunday June 11, 2023. The primary hiking focus will be about 80 kms south of Longview in the Bob Creek Wildland Provincial park and Maycroft Provincial recreation areas. We will there for the spectacular balsam root bloom as well as other wildflowers. The snow melts sooner in this area. Hikes proposed are the whaleback, chimney rock , porcupine hills. Other hikes will be closer in to Longview and Diamond Valley and include grass pass/gunnery creek, bull creek hills, raspberry ridge depending on snow conditions. And many more that i dont know. Hikes will be posted closer to the date by co- ordinators for sign up. Accomodation- there are quite a few motels, hotels, vrbos and campgrounds in Turner valley, Blackdiamond and Longview. Lots of amenities in these towns as well- restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries . | |||||||

| How to Get There: | |||||||
| Event Directions: | Bob Creek Wildland Provincial Park, which is located in southwest Alberta, between the Livingstone Range of the Rocky Mountain Front, the Oldman River and Highway 22. These protected wildlands surround one of Alberta’s unique ecological areas known as “The Whaleback”. Together Bob Creek Wildland and Black Creek Rangeland protect the largest intact expanse of montane landscape in Alberta. | ||||||
