Itinerary:

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT DELAY PAYMENT INFORMATION AT THE BOTTOM OF PAGE. Spring in the Whaleback is wildflower season and the hills are a flourish of colour. John McFaul of Alpenglow Nature Hikes (http://www.alpenglownaturehikes.ca/) will expertly guide us through this beautiful landscape providing environmental information and insight along the way. This hike involves an approximate 7 km round trip with three distinct elevation gains. The first is a moderate climb of 150 meters. We then drop down into a valley which we follow for a distance before climbing up to the top of a ridge (100 meters elevation gain). After lunch we descend back into a valley and then ascend another ridge (100 meters elevation gain) which we follow back down to the gravel road that takes us back to our cars. Their are great views of the Oldman River valley and the mountains throughout the day.
