| Itinerary: | |||||||
| Starting off on the Stoney Trail we head across the meadow and down to the Kananaskis river. In a short while we arrive at the Broken Bridges picnic site where the old highway used to cross the river. There is still evidence of the old bridge. From there we continue on the Riverview trail high above the river with views south to K country. Rejoining Stoney Trail we ascend to the powerline and follow a trail to check out the Bonsai Rocks (large rocks probably left by the glaciers). After that it is an easy walk back across the meadow to the trailhead. Expect approx 4 hours on trail including breaks. Most of the trails should be dry (they were a couple of weeks ago) but there is probably a muddy/icy section down by the river. | |||||||

| How to Get There: | |||||||
| Event Directions: | Head west on highway 1. Shortly after the highway 40 exit take the next exit, no 114, signed for Rafter 6 Ranch and Chief Camp Hector. Follow the road around and back over the highway to a three way junction. Go straight and park in the lot there. (If you take the first 114 lane you will be heading north towards Yamnuska which is incorrect. Just turn around and head back south crossing highway 1) | ||||||
