Itinerary:

Forested uphill trail interrupted at intervals by beautiful views, a waterfall, etc. Avalanche has messed up the creek crossing a bit but boulder-hopping not too bad, however feet may get wet especially on the return journey. Hobbit-style second breakfast or a snack will be eaten at Lake Bourgeau before the rocky and steep final ascent to Harvey Lake area. Last week there were Glacier Lilies at Lake Bourgeau and lots of later summer wildflowers around Harvey Lake. Fabulous views at Harvey Pass - usually possible to see Assiniboine, Sunshine ski area, Ramparts...

Required Items to Bring:
Rain gear, insect repellent, bear spray or horn, trekking poles, sunscreen, +/- good mask if there is smoke. Currently it is less smokey in Banff than in Canmore.

Meet at Bourgeau Lake Trailhead, 2.8 km west of turnoff for Sunshine on the left side of HWY 1.
