Itinerary:
Meet at 9:15 am for a 9:30 am departure. This hike is primarily a ridge walk, accounting for a cumulative elevation gain of 1205 m. Atop the ridge there are 360 degree views. Though there are a few easy scrambles, the difficulty rating is primarily due to the elevation gain. This hike is a loop, requiring a 4 km car shuttle. This hike will be done at a moderate pace with rest breaks as needed.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
We will do a creek crossing early in the hike. Bring flip flops or an extra pair of shoes if you wish. Suntan lotion, bug spray, bear spray, sun hat, lots of water.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Drive to Highwood Junction (meeting place of Highways 40, 541 and 940). Take the gravelled forestry trunk road (called either 541 or 940). Drive ~ 21.5 km from the Highwood Junction (you will pass parking lot for Raspberry Ridge, and Cataract Creek Day Use Area and Campground turnoffs). Approximately 8.5 km from Cataract Creek turnoffs, watch for an old logging road on your right, which descends into a very small open area. Park there. We will organize the car shuttle from there.

Notes:
Because of the long drive to the trailhead (approx 1 hr 45 min) and moderate pace, this will be a long day. We will likely not get back to Calgary until 6:30 - 7:00 pm
