Itinerary:
We will head counter clockwise on the Aspen Trail, then on to Paradise Trail which will take us around the perimeter of the Conservancy. I hiked this a week ago and there was still very significant snow pack on the trails in some spots - not enough for snowshoes but you may be post- holing from time to time, and your boots will certainly be wet and muddy. We will proceed at a good steady pace as defined by a short-legged septuagenarian and hit the elevation gains with vigour. Because of the snow, the path sometimes disappears so we will all have to keep a sharp eye out and work together to make sure we stay on track.

Required Items to Bring:
Micro spikes and gaiters and poles are highly recommended. We will stop for a break and snack somewhere along the way, after an hour and a half or two of walking.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:We will meet at the parking lot at the end of the Cross access road. The gate is still down. Note - You must pay $10 for parking, per car. You can pay cash via envelope deposit at the parking area, or you can pay on-line in advance through the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area website. We are meeting early - be there by 8:45 or so for a 9 a.m. departure - because the parking lot fills quickly on weekends.

Notes:
From the Deerfoot trail exit onto Stoney Trail, all the way to the city limits at 85 street, there is significant construction underway and the speed limit is reduced to 70K per hour.
