Write Up:What a fabulous fall day we had for exploring the Sandy McNabb Hills
area. Blue sky, lots of sunshine and shorts weather by lunchtime!
Some snow in the shaded areas made a lovely contrast to the fall
colours.
We followed the trail to the High Noon Hills turn off where we enjoyed
lunch on a couple of logs. Then it was on to the 'Lyle's way' part of
the hike. We wandered down to a viewpoint above the river where we
followed a lovely trail along the ridge and through some forest before
angling up a small rise to meet our original trail. Unfortunately we
still had to climb the biggest hill to get back to the trailhead (we
had avoided two other climbs by following the lower trail). After
that it was an easy hike back to our vehicles.
Stats were 12km with 370m of cumulative elevation.
Thank you to my fellow hikers for another enjoyable day in our
backyard.
