Write Up:There was a chilly wind as Helen and I headed up the hill from the
Winter Club parking lot. Snow on the ground but no microspikes needed
today. We were actually glad of the snow cover because areas without
it were becoming muddy. Before we got to the Edgemont parking lot we
were delayering as the temps rose. Lunch was enjoyed on a bench in the
warm sun beside the McEwan Glen neighbourhood. We didn't stay
strictly on the perimeter pathways, just wandered where the mood took
us and we did enjoy a few minutes enjoying the peace and tranquility
at the pond before heading back to our vehicles 5 hours later. The
highlight of the day was finding that the prairie crocuses were
starting to peek through in a few areas - spring is a-coming!
Stats were 15.3km with 373m of elevation gain - not too shabby for a
hike in the city.
