Write Up:
This is the longer route to Crandell Lake from the Red Rock Parkway. Most of the hike is through forest recovering from the 2017 fire which ravaged the park. We had a lovely day walking this trail in the sunshine. You have an opportunity to see a forest renew itself. It's a beautiful place filled with bright colours and light. Wildflowers, saplings, grass, and berry bushes fill the landscape. The old timber, still vertical, stripped of its bark and bleached by the sun, appear like metallic sculptures along the trail. Thanks to Penny, Jean and my beautiful Wife Louise for joining me on the hike. Stats for this hike: 5.1 km and 157 m.
