Write Up:It was a lovely cool start as we hiked up to the usual Jumpingpound
Summit viewpoint. From there we set off along the east ridge towards
Moose Mountain. This ridge looks lovely and flat but it has some
serious ruffles/ripples along the way to keep life interesting and us
getting a good workout! The reward for our labours was a fantastic
360 view on a flower filled high point below Moose Mountain where we
enjoyed a leisurely lunch. Then it was a repeat of the ruffles (5 in
total) as we made our way back to the original summit before
descending to the trailhead. Thankfully some clouds rolled in to take
the sting out of the sun's heat on the return trip, it was still
cooler out there than in the city though.
Thanks to everyone for helping with the route finding through a couple
of sections where there was no distinct trail.
Stats 16km with 900m of cumulative elevation. Approx 5 3/4 hours of
hiking time, 7 1/2 hours total time.
