Write Up:We had a lovely ladies day on the Sandy McNabb trail system with lots of
chocolate treats to share at lunchtime which was at the picnic table at
the viewpoint on Pine Ridge.
Macabee still had a lot of hard packed ice so we donned our spikes.
Pine Ridge was a mix of ice and bare trail. After lunch Balsam was the
muddy trail of the day which also still had a fair bit of ice on it in
spots. The best trail of all was Long Prairie Ridge which was dry with
lovely views of the distant still snowy peaks.
Stats were 10.5km with 400m of cumulative elevation. Three hours of
moving time but a leisurely 4 1/2 hour day on trail.
