Write Up:First of all, thank you to my hiking buddies who came out ready for an
adventure. Also I want to mention that everyone was looking out for
each other on a hot and humid day sharing water, electrolyte powder
along the way, and watermelon back at the vehicles (Thank you Lois) -
what a great group!
This hike was exploratory on the way out then back along the familiar
Carry ridge but in the opposite direction from our usual route.
We started off well along a well travelled horse trail but then missed
our intended route when the horse trail headed up the back way to
Muley Ridge. With everyone game to do a wee bit of off trail we
headed back down to the valley between Muley and Forked Ridges. We
ended up following animal trails back to the familiar trail between
Carry and Muley before ascending Carry Ridge for a late lunch. It was
lovely walking back along the ridge and we only had a sprinkling of
rain which felt wonderful given the humidity of the day. Lots of
flowers and a whole colour palette of Paintbrush.
Stats were 12.75km and a cumulative elevation of 440m.
Now that we know where we variated and where we should have been this
will be a redo in the future 😏
