Write Up:While I have hiked to the summit of Jumpingpound Mtn many times I have
only continued along the east ridge a couple of times and have never
made it to the end of the very 'ruffled' ridge.
Thursday was the day!
At lunchtime we split into two groups with 6 of us continuing on to
the last 'top'. This involved a bit of bush whacking and trail finding
in snow patches down a short ridge before an easy walk to the end of
the Jumpingpound East ridge where we had a great close up view of
Moose Mtn.
Stats were 16km and 900m of cumulative elevation.
The other 5 enjoyed lunch before making their way back towards
Jumpingpound Mountain - their stats were approx 14km and 700m of
elevation gain.
We all regrouped before the final steep climb up to the summit which
is just brutal at the end of the day before the easy hike back out to
the vehicles.
Lots of wild flowers to enjoy along the way, and only a few snow
patches to deal with after last week's rain/snow.
The gravel road in from the Sibbald end was in great shape apart from
a couple of big puddles, not sure about coming in from the highway 66
end.

finding and leading along the way.
