Write Up:
The day started out cool & cloudy which was perfect for hiking. We had a light rain off & on throughout the day so it was rain jackets on & off all day. The trail consists of undulating ridges with spectacular 360 deg views all the way to the peak. The top of Windy Peak was a carpet of white Mountain Avens flowers. We went up & down the same way to take advantage of all the views in both directions. The loop through the trees & back on the road to the vehicles was not appealing. There are amazing sculptures of dried deadwood throughout the trail. The real adventure began when we arrived back at the vehicles where one vehicle had a flat tire, with no spare & only a blow up repair kit that didn't work. We all piled into one vehicle to get back to Highwood House. Unfortunately the vehicle had to be repaired & retrieved the next day after a long hike. Thanks for the great company & a great hike. Stats: 13 kms, 700m
