Write Up:
Not only a new hike for all of us yesterday but none of us had ever driven to the end of highway 546 either - it's a beautiful drive! The hardest part of the whole hike was braving the very cold knee deep water of the Sheep River right at the start of the trail. The air temperature was 6C and there had been fresh snow higher up overnight! Although a lot of the trail is through forest there were lots of open views and some historical sites from the late 1880's to look out for too. Lots of lovely waterfalls and pools to play in along the way on a hot summer day which yesterday definitely was not 😆 Stats were 16km and 593m of elevation which was lots of ups and downs, nothing seriously steep. 5 hours of hiking and 6 hours total with all my photo stops and our breaks. We all agreed that we will be doing this hike again in the future.
