Write Up:It was a lovely day to hike up and down and up and down and up and
down.... along Wasootch Ridge - don't ever let anyone tell you that
ridges are flat!
The trail was mainly dry with only a few patches of avoidable snow
nearer our endpoint which was the cairn at 5.3km before the final
scramble to the end. On talking to others enroute that last 1km+
isn't quite ready yet.
The Prairie Crocuses are still in their infancy here and we also saw
some purple Saxifrage which appears shortly after 'snow release'.
A mix of sun and cloud made for ideal hiking conditions, also very
little wind on the ridge.
Four strong hikers made it to the cairn in 3 hours. Total time on
trail was 5 3/4 hours with a leisurely lunch and lots of photo stops
along the way. 10.6km and a heck of a lot of elevation - approx 1175m
cumulative with all the ripples along the ridge!
