Write Up:The hike started a bit later than initially scheduled in hope that
the strong winds would subside. But alas, the eight of us were faced
with extremely strong winds as we reached the ridge of Mount Carthew.
Strong gusts continued as we descended to the Carthew Lakes, causing
us to drop to the ground several times. About noon drizzling rain
began to fall. A challenging hike that was a true adventure! The
larch trees, lakes and rocks were all beautiful. Fortunately we had
a group of experienced strong hikers.
