Write Up:This was a toss up between the similarly distanced but higher Tuff
Puff viewpoint or a pretty lake nestled below Whirlpool Ridge.
Kinglet lake won out due to the potentially smoky conditions
limiting views and the forecasted afternoon heat.
Both trails leave from the same trailhead splitting at the 2.4km
point so we could have changed our minds if we'd wanted to.
We encountered a mix of some very steep sections, some lovely open
meadow areas and, thankfully, some forested areas for shade. Also
some beautiful wild flowers as we neared the lake.
A couple of the group were lucky enough to see a bald eagle drying
his wings on the lake shore but weren't quick enough with the
cameras before he took off.
Three of us cooled our feet in the Kinglet creek on our return to
the vehicles.
