A hike in the rain with a few breaks in the clouds took us to La
Clytte lake and glacier. Rain gear was the apparel of the day. The
trail contours through lush forest and meadows full of flowers and
crosses several streams. It eventually leads to a flat viewpoint
directly across from White Lines, a prominent rock buttress. The trail
descends through rock ledges to La Clytte, a fast-running glacial
stream, with a very interesting foot bridge to cross. Then there's
another steep ascent along narrow trail and a bit of scrambling along
and over rock to glacial moraines and to the toe of La Clytte Glacier
and its small lake. This is where we had lunch before returning to
the lodge.
Approximate distance: 10km / Elevation gain: 500+m
