Write Up:A challenging, but enjoyable hike. The temperature was not too hot. There was a cool breeze in
the morning, making it more pleasant for the climb. We met a couple of people who thought we
were hiking Heart Mountain "the wrong way" and the worst was yet to come. Little did they
know that, hiking this route is totally enjoyable, and we had no intentions of doing the total
circuit. We hiked to the peak just before McEwen Mountain and had lunch there. The sky was a
beautiful blue with a few wispy clouds. We started the hike at 10:00 and were out by 2:50. A
fantastic way to spend a Saturday and a wonderful group of people to hike with. Thanks to Siri,
Nancy, Julia, Annie, Heather, Esther and Peter for your companionship along the way.
