It all started with a pink shirt – hiker Barbie had joined us for the day.
Trail was initially easy to follow until we came to the boggy section. A few wet feet with a bit of alder and willow-whacking. We followed something resembling a trail out of the bog section and ended off-route. With the gps we were able to bushwhack back to the trail leading up to the cut line and eventually to a meadow below the first cliffs. Straight forward climb up to the ridge and then on to Boundary Peak.
Unfortunately, Barbie discovered that her phone was missing. We decided to continue on to the summit and look for her phone on the way down. While climbing, we encountered two other hikers on their way down who said they would help look for the missing phone. What a surprise on our return to the parking lot to discover that the missing phone had been placed underneath one of the vehicles. They had even left a note with their contact information. A Barbie end to perfect day with a strong group of hikers.
