Write Up:Despite a weather forecast of cool weather with a possibility of showers, 15 hardy hikers
trudged up the many switchbacks and across the scree to reach the lookout at Mount Burke. It
was a touch cool at the top and we watched as a couple of black clouds approached. Though no
lightning was sighted, we decided it would be wise to head back to the parking area. A short
light shower did catch us on the way down, but it was so minor than no one even donned their
rain jacket. When we reached our cars, we looked back at the tiny pimple on the top of Mount
Burke and marvelled that we live in such a beautiful environment. We celebrated the fact that all
of us had reached the top. Thanks to all who did this hike for coming along and for all your
support and encouragement along the way.
