Write Up:We started from The Hump, climbed up to Hailstone Butte, followed the ridge past the lookout,
descended down the fire road to the valley then finished with a steep climb up to Sentinel Peak.
Thrilled to be at the top as this was our second attempt. We arrived back at the trailhead just as
it was starting to rain.
Much more direct than the approach from Highway 940. Total distance was 18 km with an
elevation gain of 1000m.
